We had so much fun taking part in our Jingle Bell Run today. Staff and teachers were all decked out in their Christmas gear and we did as many laps of the yard as we could, running to our favourite festive tunes and ringing our bells as we went. We had 3 different runs-one for Infants, one for 1st-3rd and the last one for 4th-6th class. Everyone was well able to keep up and did more laps than they thought they would at the beginning. Well done to everyone who took part. A special thanks to children and staff on our committee who organised it, did DJ, motivated the participants and set the pace. I think it may be an annual event:-). Check out the video below to see highlights from this great event!
We have just finished our term of Irish dancing. Colm has worked very hard with us over the last three months. All classes from Junior Infants to 6th class took part and we really enjoyed it. We've learned lots of new dances this year. Yesterday on our last day we all received medals for our hard work. The 5th and 6th classes even had a dance off with Ms Ryans 6th class claiming the victory this year. Well done girls:-)!
Ms. Cooney's 5th class have just completed 10 badminton lessons. They worked really hard on the forehand and backhand grips as well as chasse, side and lunge steps. They learned how to serve and how to use net shots and the fore and backhand lifts. Some of our teachers did a course with Badminton Ireland and got lots of equipment and lesson plans for the school so we hope lots of classes will get a chance to use it now. See Ms Cooney' s class in action in the below.
